Sponsor a Child in Cambodia - Make a World of Difference

Why Sponsor a Child has a huge positive impact?

sponsor a child

Childhood is a unique gift that every individual has the natural right to claim. But for many children, this natural right is more a myth than a reality. Because of their poor economic situation, which is the result of factors such as poverty, HIV / AIDS and climate change, many children in poor countries do not attend school.

In addition, life-threatening diseases such as diarrhea, pneumonia, malaria and measles are at risk for many children in poor countries. Worldwide, pneumonia and diarrhea cause 36 percent of infant mortality among children under 5 years of age, while malnutrition contributes to 53 percent.

The situation of Children in Poor Countries

Young people and children in poor countries who are not in school are instead taking care of their brothers and sisters with whom they are orphaned, work in factories where they are exploited as child laborers, work in the street and attract unscrupulous men and women out to prostitute their innocence through prostitution so that they can at least have a meal, or in more fortunate cases, they are in orphanages and orphanages where civil society and governments are trying to save some of their innocence through much-needed food, education and care to offer them.

How a child sponsorship program helps?

Sponsorship helps to provide essentials such as access to quality education, primary care, nutrition, immunization, recreation and creativity for the children. Sponsoring only 25 cents a day gives the child not only the necessary physical input needed to survive but also the emotional input that is extended as care by the people who help the children gain access to physical things such as health care. Sponsorship can also be used to help disadvantaged children in formal education by paying their costs, helping them gain access to better education and better recreational facilities, as well as improved health facilities for their use in schools. These are other reasons why everyone should sponsor a child.

SPONSOR A CHILD IN CAMBODIA - CHANGE A LIFE

Feeding Dreams is an NGO (non-profit) Cambodia charity and a grassroots community school providing Free education, vocational centre, school meals and community support to over 800 poor children and families living in Siem Reap’s slums.

Feeding Dreams provides 800 impoverished children with free daily classes in English, Math, I.T, Health & Hygiene, Morality, Art and Sport.

Our free education programs are accredited by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. So every student receives nationally recognized annual certificates.

Innovative teachers and a child-friendly school combined with established curricula offer the perfect learning environment for our little ones to thrive. The children like to come to Feeding Dreams where they can play, learn, eat and enjoy a childhood feeling.

FDC also provides financial support for children to cover their formal Khmer primary and high school costs, as well as ongoing support for older students so that they can move on to higher education.

For many of our students, the few hours a day they attend Feeding Dreams is the only time they become "children" - free from the hardships of collecting garbage and chronic hunger. We free every child from enslaved child labor. Therefore, place in school systems is another step towards ending cycles of family poverty.
